3 Rising Stars IN Pro Wrestling

I am here to tell you people about 3 stars I think that are on a major rise in this sport and there is only 3 of them. I will start off with the one that is slowly rising.

Samoa Joe: I put him as the slowest rising because that is what he is . He could have been the hottest thing in wrestling a couple of months ago but with the wonderful booking in TNA they have made him a main eventer but not their champion. Now he is rising a little bit but a few more bad booking decisions and he could become a one of the fastest falling stars in pro wrestling. Every like to pick out the next big thing from time to time and he was quoted by some as being that when he debuted but now it looks like he could go the way of the next big failure. In a years time we should look back and see if things have gotten worse or better.

Ken Kennedy: This was a tough one becasue these next 2 picks are equally rising fast but a few small things have added up to stop him to be one of the top stars now. Like my football coach says it may be a little thing but in the end it all adds up to be a big thing. Like Kennedy’s injuries. He could be a top star now because he won the money in the bank match but since he had to give it up because of injury, it halted his rise to the top. Yeah WWE may find more ways to make him a top star but he could be a top star now if it wasn’t for that injury. Plus when he first debuted, he started to get hot then he got injured and everyone almost forgot about him so that has halted him. If you take those 2 things away, he could have been a WWE champion by now.

CM Punk: At first I didn’t see much in him but now just a little over a year since he debuted, he is the ECW champion and the fans love him. If you watched ECW last Tuesday and saw him win that title you would know exactly what I am talking about. When he won that belt the place erupted and the fans were jumping up and down. Now you tell me, when was the last time you have seen the WWE or World title change hands and have that much excitement. I can’t recall how long but you mark my words, if he stays healthy, it is just a matter of time until he is the top star in the industry and he is off to a good start.

Thanks for reading. this is the only way you will hear me talk about wrestling until about mid October when I call back in to Pro Wrestling Radio. I am on hiatus because of school, football, and my job so I can’t find the time. Also I will be going to Monday Night Raw this week so that should be fun and I will write a post about how fun it was.

Pacman Jones and TNA

Alright I dont know a whole lot on this story because I haven’t been able to follow along all that well with football and everything but here is my take on the whole situation. I think that getting Pacman Jones to come to TNA could’ve brought TNA to new heights. You may be thinking that is what everyone says when TNA gets a former wrestling headliner on their roster but this is different. You see when TNA gets these former headliners it really sjouldn’t give them a boost because these guys have been seen and watched long enough and there is a reason why they are not major players anymore. But with Pacman Jones, with him being so controversial in the NFL and everyone wants to see him do something since he can’t play, then why not get him when people want to see him do something. He is a natural athlete so you wouldn’t have to do to much to get him to do certain things but you would have to teach him how to wrestle. He from what it sounds like does have good talking skills so that is a plus. Another thing I am thinking is that this whole thing with the Titans putting a restraining order on him and everything may just be a work to get extra publicity to TNA for this thing and drag some NFL fans over to their product. I may be barking up the wrong tree on that but never say never in the sport of professional wrestling because anything is possible. I do know though that TNA had him suffer an injury at their show so that may be just a reason for TNA to get rid of him without just doing it out of the blue, at least give a reason why he is gone and work it into a storyline. That is my take on this whole ordeal but again, I haven’t been able to follow it to close.

One more thing my condolences go out to the family of Bryan Adams formerly known as Crush in the WWF in the early ’90’s. No one has said what the cause was but I have already heard the word steroids being linked to this so who knows. Some news people have already said things like think back to Chris Benoit and that just disgusts me. I can see treating the whole Benoit thing the way they did because it was pretty out there but to now just cover a prowrestlers death even though he hasn’t done anything in 6 years really drives me nuts to think this thing could be all wrestling and steroids related. I will even bet you that if another wrestler died in a car accident the media would even say that was steroids related. I mean reall give it a rest now.

The Chris Benoit Tradgedy

For you people that may think that Benoit is still a good person after all that has happened you may want to stop reading right here because I am officially giving my opinons of this whole thing. Now it is a tradgedy that someone has died and it is even more awful that a defenseless woman and child were killed. I send my condolences to the people that loved Nancy and Daniel Benoit but I do refuse to feel sorry about Chris Benoit dying. Now before you think I am heartless for saying that just think about it rationally for a second. I do know what it feels like to lose one to suicide as one of my friends took his life about 2 years ago for reasons still unexplained. But back to my topic. I would feel sorry if it was just Benoit that took his own life but instead he killed his wife and 7 thats right 7 year old son over the weekend. Whether steroids may have caused this behavior or not I am not here to debate that I am here to tell you all that I think that Chris Benoit shall burn in HELL for what he has done. He killed his family in a brutal fashion and then took his own life. I say he is lucky he did do that because if he would have lived past this horrible incident I would have liked to have seen him run up a flagpole hanging form his sensitive area and I am sure you all now what I am talking about and beaten with a bat until he was dead. Call that brutal if you will but this is a country that says you can explain how you fell freely and if you Benoit supporters feel offended by what I said and think it is not right, then please explain to me how you could call Benoit a good person after what has happened. In fact, you can be the nicest guy all of your life and loved by everyone but when you take someone else’s life, I dont care how good you were in the past’ I consider you a dickhead who should be killed in the most brutal fashion imaginable. I can however sympathize with his kids from a previous marriage over losing a father and his close friends over losing a friend but after what you have heard what was done, I think you should be happy that an jerk like him is gone. If you read my myspace profile, you will see that I despise guys that beat woman women but imagine how much I hate people that hurt kids little ones at that. But he didn’t just beat them, he took their lives and that disgusts me. I don’t care how mad people may make you or how much you hate them, you have no right to take another person’s life and like I said earlier, I hope you like hot places because you will be burning in HELL. Benoit may have been the best technical wrestler we have ever seen. That sentence right there is the only one that you will ever hear of Scott from Michigan saying because I am glad he is gone and when the time comes, he will be burning in the lake of fire forever and ever. So I dare anyone to tell me of what a good man Benoit was, I will shoot down your thoughts with what I just wrote. So again I do send condolences to his remaining family members in that they may have lost their father but don’t forget, he did kill your little brother and Step mom. Like I said, he could have been the nicest guy ever but when he killed his wife and son, he officially became on of the world’s biggest a**holes and that is all I have to say about that.

The Draft

It was done about 2 weeks ago now and that is the WWE draft. We haven’t seen one in a couple of years now and I was interested in seeing who would go where. All in all, I think it was pretty even. One brand is not suffering and one brand is gaining anymore than the other. I think some good decisions were made on some wrestlers like Boogeyman going to ECW and I say that because they really don’t know what to do with him on Smackdown and he fits into that Sci-Fi picture. I was dissappointed about Benoit going to ECW and I thing it diminishes some credibility he may have. For you to rteally understand where I am coming from on this you have to look at it like it is a baseball analogy. Raw is MLB, Smackdown is AAA, and ECW is AA. So for them to move Benoit to ECW is kind of dissappointing in my eyes because I believe he is major league. I am glad though that they recognized Kennedy as a major leaguer as they moved him to Raw and I think that when you look at the feuds he can have on Raw compared to the ones he can have on Smackdown, I think the Raw feuds are more enticing as a fan. Just to name a few, Kennedy-Cena, Kennedy-Michaels, Kennedy-HHH, Kennedy-Orton, Kennedy-Umaga and just looking at those feuds that I mentioned you can’t say you would rather have him on Smackdown. The only new feud over on Smackdown for him would be Edge because he has already wrestled Undertaker and Batista so I do think it was a good move and good for his career because the feuds he can have on Raw will truly elevate him to solid main event status. I also thought that Khali’s move was good because I just couldn’t see him lasting on Raw because he could have great feuds but they wouldn’t have much longevity for example his recent feud with Cena which was for what 2 months or so. So there is my take on this year’s draft and I can’t wait to see some new feuds unfold because of this and I can’t also wait for Kennedy to become a huge star. Thanks again for visiting.

People That Give The Internet A Bad Name

I am not talking about predators or some other felons that are on the internet these days. I am talking that give wrestling journalists a bad name by doing stupid things involving wrestling. There are some people out there that put out bogus stories on the net creating a hoopla among people that read news about wrestling off of the net just to see how they react. Then these stories are false and they try to make explanations about it. But the truth is they are idiots that give people that do wrestling radio shows and people tat do blogs like me a bad name. We are labeled as sitting in our parents basement on the computer 24/7 with acne and never have been with a girl and we create these bull crap stories just to see how people react. Now if you come to this blog regularly, you should know I only write about news stories and the happenings in wrestling that are true. I dont try to stir up stupid stories. People that listen to the radio shows are labeled as that as well but we only predict and comment on certain things. Of course there are some shows out there like that but not all of them. Certainly not Eric’s ProWrestling radio show. We just like to talk wrestling and discuss topics. There are dirt sheets that are full of gossip and lies and they contribute alot to this stereotype because of what they write. Another example is that recently on Mr. Kennedy’s myspace page, it was hacked into and the hacker put up TNA banners on his page causing a huge hoopla among the friends of his page and just the visitors. Getting some to believe that he was going to TNA. Now that is why many wrestlers dont have myspace pages because crap like that happens so idiots have to make up fake ones because there are very few real ones out there. I wouldnt be suprised if Kennedy deletes his page now because of this. Now that is why I am disgusted by some so called journalists on the net. The people that do this crap probably do fit the stereotype that pro wrestlers give us people on the net because they are stupid and have no lives at all. I just had to get that off of my chest.

Liddell vs Jackson

This is it. We are officially 1 day away from possibly the best fight of the year. Liddell vs Jackson just sends chills up my spine. This fight should be off the hook as the hip people like to say. These 2 guys are going to come out swinging and I think we will see a knockout in the end. I really hate to say this though because I like Liddell, but I see him losing his title. I am not only saying this because Rampage has already beaten him but if you watch the first fight, Rampage just killed him. Liddell was throwing everything he had and he nailed Rampage a couple of times with shots that would knock outmost other fighters, but Rampage got mad and killed him. Also, with Liddell having the best takedown defense in MMA and the way Rampage made it look easy by taking him down is unbelievable. I want Rampage to win but either way it is going to be an exciting fight and I cant wait. The rest of the card looks ok but when I saw Chris Leben’s name, I laughed because I hate this guy more than Tim Sylvia. Then I also heard that he wanted a pay raise ni his contract when it comes due in a couple of fights. He was quoted as saying he hopes that Dana realizes how much Leben has done for the UFC and gives him the raise he deserves. I want to see him knocked out tommorrow also. I thing Jardine may win his fight. I want to know if he still has that fire that helped him beat Forrest Griffin the last time they fought. I also think that Parisyan will win his fight. I dont know too much about Burkman but something tells me he will never get past a certain level in UFC and that is not a very high level. Those are my fight predictions and I will be watching to see if I am right. If I am only right on one of these fights, I hope it is the main event. Thanks again for reading my thoughts.

NWA Splits Away From TNA

It ha sbeen talked about for a couple of months now. We have talked about it since it first came out that NWA was going to break away from TNA. And it finally happened this past Sunday at TNA’s ppv “Sacrifice.” AS the NWA stripped Angle and Team 3D of their titles. Now this brings up an interesting thing in my eyes. When TNA first started, they just used the NWA titles and the NWA brand name as a whole to just get some added prestige to the promotion for when it started up. But since it started, it seems as if TNA was actually keeping the NWA alive as they dont have their own show. If you look at it, the traditional fans checked out TNA in the beginning because of the connection but the NWA has really done nothing more for the company. You see, NWA has alot of terrotories but TNA didn’t really get any real talent from them. So yeah, the NWA name a little in the beginning but after that, it has not mattered all that much. Now the NWA will do a tournament I belive between the best wrestlers in the world to crown their new champs. And now also, TNA will get their very own titles now which means they start from scratch and don’t have that prestige anymore. The TNA wrestlers that hold that belt now that didn’t hold that NWA World Title cannot say that they are on the same list as Flair, Rhodes, Race, just to name a few. But now, do you think this changes how you look at TNA or do you see it as the same promotion. I see it as the same promotion that keeps screwing up. Now from what I read, TNA didn’t do anything major to braek away like ECW did. If TNA went that route, it might have actually done something for the promotion but I also thought when Angle came over, they would start doing good business. So now with them getting away from the NWA, will TNA’s product change at all. We will just have to see what happens. If this split has any impact at all.

Thanks Again for reading this post. Sorry about the gaps in the dates in between the time that I write but I have had computer problems for some time now and hopefully they are gone. But check back here next week past Wednesday as I countdown to the Liddell-Rampage fight and give my predictions. And I just got this news story from my buddies at nodq.com Sabu has been released from the WWE. Does mean he is done with wrestling now or will he go back to TNA once again. Thanks Again for your time.

WrestleMania 23 Predictions

It is that time of year again that every wrestling fan loves, WrestleMania time. Whether you like WWE or not, you watch WrestleMania because it is the biggest show of the year. Now since we are on the eve of WrestleMania, I thought I would run through the lineup, give my insight and my predictions. I am pumped for tommorrow’s show and I can’t wait for it to start. So without any further adue, lets get the predicting underway.

THE GREAT KHALI vs KANE: It is a feud right out of the 70’s and 80’s as you have 2 monsters that want to tear each other apart and it would be a main storyline 20 years ago. But now in this day and age, most wrestling fans want different sotrylines that are more enticing than this one. The main storylines these days are more complex that the ones that ran 20 years ago. The WWE creative hasn’t really done anything major with this storyline besides a couple of attacks and quick power moments. Though for the winner of the match I would have to pick Kane because he really needs to look strong after beating Khali as he is rumored to be feuding with Mark Henry when he returns.

WWE WOMEN’s CHAMPIONSHIP
ASHLEY vs MELINA (champ): This is a match I don’t have to much insight for but I would predict Melina coming away with this one beacuse this feud is reminiscent of the Trish/Christy feud for the title a couple of WrestleManias ago after Christy was in playboy. There are so many paralells between these 2 feuds that I wouldn’t be suprised if it ends the same way.

U.S. CHAMPIONSHIP
MVP vs CHRIS BENOIT (champ): This is another feud I don’t have to much insight for but this time it is because I really don’t like this feud. Benoit is one of the world’s best pure wrestlers and when you put him in there with a guy that he has to pick up alot of slack for, it doesn’t look to good. But I see this time for Benoit as being champ as a time to survey his landscape, I predict he loses his title tommorrow in a cheap way and goes away for a couple of weeks and then comes back as a heel and challenges the World champion to a feud which in my mind may lead to some very good wrestling matches.

8 MAN TAG
ECW ORIGINALS (RVD, SANDMAN,TOMMY DREAMER SABU) vs THE NEW BREED (KEVIN THORN, ELIJAH BURKE,MATT STRIKER, MARCUS COR VON): This has been a feud that has degraded the original ECW stars and tommorrow will be the final nail in the coffin as I believe THE NEW BREED will prevail tommorrow and we may see THE ORIGINALS be faded out of the picture besides RVD who Vince thinks can work and maybe Tommy dreamer because Vince believes these 2 guys are good workers and possibly the only ones that are original ECW extremeists who can work a good match. Snadman and Sabu are said to be in the doghouse and may be let go soon.

MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH
KING BOOKER vs EDGE vs CM PUNK vs JEFF HARDY vs MATT HARDY vs FINLAY vs RANDY ORTON vs MR.KENNEDY: I expect this to be a good match and a match that may set up some good feuds as you have Edge and Orton who I think are not going to win because after this night, I expect a long feud from these 2 and this match should be used to elevate someone and these 2 are already solid main event workers. You may have Matt and Jeff strat fighting each other after this match in a brother feud that is very common in pro wrestling and maybe Finlay against King Bokker after this match also may be set up. So that leaves 2 guys without any feuds being forecats for them and that is Mr.Kennedy and CM Punk and I predict Kennedy to win this as CM Punk is also said to be in the doghouse and this match could solidify Kennedy as a true main eventer.

HAIR vs HAIR
BOBBY LASHLEY (representing Donald Trump) vs. UMAGA (representing Vince McMahon)
SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE-STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN: I see Lashley winning this as he is alos one who needs a big win tommorrow and I see Vince getiing his head shaved and maybe Brutus “THE BARBER” Beefcake to show up and do the honors. I see Vince getting cost the match by Mysterio showing up and doing it or Austin doing it because he don’t like him.

WWE TITLE
SHAWN MICHAELS vs JOHN CENA (champ): This one is a toss up but this night may go to the oldert guys when it really counts because they elevate some younger guys earlier in the night and I see Shawn Michaels winning his 5th WWE title and then having a good series of matches with Cena until HHH comes back and challenges Shawn for the title as the heel ending DX also once and for all.

WORLD TITLE
UNDERTAKER vs BATISTA (champ): Like I already said the end of the show will belong to the veterans as I believe Taker will take this keeping his streak alive because if they kill it, it adds more pressure for a marquee thing at Mania and they have enough trouble as it is. They will give the belt to Taker because like I also said Benoit will fight him for the title making for some good television and awesome matches. Batista has lost his fire and I think he needs to lose the title to realize how lucky he is to have that title and not take it for granted and maybe if his fire comes back, maybe he will get it back towards the end of the year from Taker or Benoit. We will just have to see and wait for years end. Or, like at WrestleMania 17, maybe Batista will definitively turn heel by aligning himself with someone the fans hate like McMahon or something and he tries making his success as a heel like Austin tried. But I don’t think they will go that route because of my reason from before. But it does give you something to think about doesn’t it.

Thanks again for reading my insight and I hope you enjoyed it and you better believe that I will be watching closely tommorrow to see if I am right about these things. Enjoy the show tommorrow along millions of other wrestling fan s as it only comes once a year. Thanks Again.

Book Review: Contreversy Creates Cash

Sorry for the delay folks but my myspace page was really starting to take off in the last month so I got busy with that but as I promised, I am doing another review on a very good book that has been out for sometime but if you have not gotten it yet I highly suggest that you do. This was a well written book by Eric Biscoff and he does not hold back in this almost 400 page book. He tells of his days growing up in a bad side of Detroit then moving to a good neighborhood in Pittsburgh and living close to the legendary Bruno Sammartino to moving to Minnesota and falling in love with the AWA wrestling show. He tells of his start as a marketing guy for the AWA and progressively made his way up the ranks to being called by the WCW offices. He describes how much of a challenge it was to turn WCW around and have to deal with the corporate suits in the CCN center that wanted to see WCW fail. He does brag of how he brought WCW to its graetest heights and its shameful downfall. His book also goes into detail of how he tried buying WCW only to have it be bought out by the WWE and then talks about his present life and his new career in the WWE. I will tell you this, after reading his book I look at WCW in a whole new light and I now give them more credit for the things that they accomplished and I was never a big fan of WCW. He covers so many topics in this book that I good sit here all night writing about them but I dont want to give too much away. It is a must read and a very good book.

Also a couple of notes: Like I said I have a myspace page now and the address is www.myspace.com/scottswrestlingworld and I am looking for more friends so if you have one, please become a friend of mine on myspace. Also on there is my 2nd interview and my 1st video interview with WWE hall of famer and tag team legend “Handsome” Jimmy Valiant. He has alot of fans out there and I want to thank WWWA’s voice Jack Taylor for setting it up.

MMMA NEWS BULLETIN: AS REPORTED ON MMANEWS.COM, SHERDOG.COM AND EWRESTLINGNEWS.COM AT UFC 71 ON MAY 26, CHUCK LIDDEL WILL DEFEND HIS TITLE AGAINST QUINTON “RAMPAGE” JACKSON.
