Desecrating the WWE Title
This is a thing that has been bothering me for quite some time. Remember when the WWE title was treated with respect. I know it is kind of hard to remember it because for the last year and a half, we have seen it as being a bling-bling side show. I know, JBL said it best. I mean, this title has such a long lineage of wrestling greats that have held this title and I think when you turn this belt into a spinner title, it not only diminishes the credibility of the title but also its previous champions. How do you think that the longest reigning champion ever Bruno Sammartino feels seeing the title he held for the longest time (spanning 11 years total during his 2 title reigns) being diminished so much on television. Now I know he can’t stand what the WWE does today, but again, this is a company he helped build and it must pain him deeply to see how the WWE has changed into a live sex having, constant nudity, cussing, sexual harrassing, steroid abusing company. I know that companys have to change with the times but they have definitely have stooped lower than they needed to to change with the times. Same thing with the WWE title. Do not change with the times by making it into a spinner title but give a modern look without making it look like bling-bling. Why even change it because the previous WWE title before John Cena’s spinner title was just fine. Just look at the World title on Smackdown. That look was used throughout the entire span of WCW’s existence and they still keep the same look 5 years after WCW went out of business. Also look at TNA. The NWA World title has lasted decades by looking the same as it does today. Now that is true wrestling tradition for you right there, critcize TNA all you want but at least give them credit for sticking with the same NWA title that greats like Harley Race, Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Barry Windham, Jack Brisco, Rick Steamoat, and other legends in pro wrestling. See what I mean, TNA respects its heritage and great lineage of world champions while WWE in my opinion disrespects the WWE title and its great lineage of titleholders form Bruno Sammartino, Billy Graham, Buddy Rogers, Bob Backlund, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and many other legends in pro wrestling. Now to end this, for all of you visitors to this blog, tell me what title do you think has the better lineage of wrestlers from the 6 I mentioned for each. That being the NWA title and the WWE title.
Now just real quick, I want to tell the people who visit here to stay tuned to this blog because I have been working with the WWWA (World Wide Wrestling Alinace) to set up interviews. I have set up 2 with them and that being one of their own stars and remember my tag teams post, well this guy that I hope to have is one half of the greatest tag teams of all time and definitely a very rowdy wrestler in his time. So stay tuned and as usual when my interviews are up, I will plug them on Eric Gargiulo’s Pro Wrestling Radio show.
Thanls for visiting again and wish me luck because this Friday is my first High School football game of the season. You see, I moved in the past year and last year I was on a very good team called the Menominee (Michigan) Maroons and they usually win all of their games except that occasional loss in the playoffs. But this year, since I moved, I now play for the Marinette (Wisconsin) Marines and they have not done so well the past 3 -5 years and we hope to turn that around this Friday Night.

I’d give the WWWF a slight edge on lineage up to 1984 when the Hogan era began and wrestling took a huge turn for the worse. After ‘84 I won’t comment on lineage because title changes became frequent and had less meaning. There was a time when I thought the Intercontinental, US, and tag team titles had great histories. Today I’d be hard pressed to even remember who holds any of the belts.
