Wrestlemania 22 Predictions

This past weeks blog will be done in the next few days but this post is one I have been waiting to do ever since I started this blog. I love to predict things around this time of year because, ladies and gentlemen, it is Wrestlemania season. No matter if WWE is on an upswing or a downswing, it is always fun to predict what will happen at Wrestlemania. I am also going to predict who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. I will first give my Hall of Fame inductees and then run down the card I see happening at Wrestlemania. Now, here are my inductees into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Class of 2006 WWE Hall of Fame inductees:
1) Bret Hart
2) Dusty Rhodes
3) Eddie Guererro
4) Jake Roberts
5) Ted Dibiase
6) Jim Duggan
7) Road Warrior Hawk

Now in my lineup for Wrestlemania 22, I will give you the matches and why I think they are happening.

WWE Women’s title: Trish Stratus (champ) vs. Mickie James: This is something you could have predicted when Mickie first came here. It always leads to a conflict when a person turns on his/her idol. Lately on Raw in the past few weeks, you could see some tension and when tension arises, a feud starts up.

Lita vs. Maria: This is not that big of a match but you could look at this match as just another match on the card. But, a few weeks ago on Raw, Maria pinned Lita in their mixed tag match involving Cena and Edge. It will start when Maria is interviewing Lita and brings it back up.

HHH (represents Dusty Rhodes) vs. Ric Flair: Winner becomes new GM of Raw: The reason I predict this match is because last August Dusty Rhodes said on WWE Byte This! that he would like to wrestle Ric Flair again. Also a couple of weeks ago, I saw somewhere that WWE was going to have Dusty as the new Raw GM and he would not just be a part of the office. But Dusty will not be wrestling for himself. He is obviously too old to be wrestling and he seems not to be in that great of shape so he finds someone to represent him. The person he will choose will be the “Cerebral Asassin” HHH. The reason I predict that is because last fall, Flair and HHH was one of the hottest feuds of the year. They also never really finished it though because Flair won 1 and so has HHH. So it will also be the rubber match between these 2. Also, we all know that HHH loves to be on the good side of GMs so he can get what he wants always and winning this for Dusty over one of his biggest rivals of all time will definitely earn him a spot on the good side of Dusty.

Edge vs. Mick Foley: Last Man Standing : It all began last week on Raw when Edge lost his match to Cena for the WWE title and blamed Foley then proceeded to spear him. They will fight and they will use this match to push Edge big time because they did the same thing for Orton at Backlash 2004 and at Summerslam of that year, he won the World title. Edge may have already held the title but he will win this one and go to Summerslam to regain the WWE title.

Vince McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels: We have predicted McMahon versus Hart for year but never Michaels against McMahon. The reason why it is not Bret this time around is because he can’t actively wrestle anymore but he will be a referee or he will interfere on someone’s behalf.

WWE Title Triple Threat: John Cena (champ) vs. RVD vs. Randy Orton: Orton took Mysterio’s ‘Mania title shot from him at No Way Out and ever since Mysterio never picked which title he wanted to challenge for, Orton still gets to make a decision. Orton versus RVD was a good feud because remember it was RVD who Orton took the IC title from and they had an awesome match but sadly, they killed the feud too quickly when it could have gone on at least 2 months longer. We have senn Cena and Orton altercations in many interviews in the past couple of years leading all of us to believe there would be a feud between these 2 men. Now that have each been champ and with RVD in the mix, it could be a match of the year candidate fi all goes well.

World Title Triple Threat: Kurt Angle (champ) vs. Mark Henry vs. Batista: This match will happen because Batista returned at No Way Out and he has some unfinished business with Mark Henry and people have asked for the past couple of years who would win a match between Batista and Angle. Also, Henry and Angle hate each other so that is why he will be in this match.

Also, Undertaker will wrestle somebody but I can’t figure it out yet. Maybe Mr. Kennedy because ‘Mania is where Taker takes on a cocky wrestler and Mr. Kennedy is definitely cocky.

My next blog will be on this past week of wrestling in a couple of days. Thanks to all of the people that are visiting my blog and keep on coming.

This Week In Pro Wrestling Feb. 6-12

This week was somewhat interesting in both TNA and WWE but mostly TNA because they had a ppv. Now, as always lets start off this blog RAW.

WWE Raw: I don’t have lots to say on the Raw side of things but I do want to predict the winner of their number 1 contender’s tournament. I predict RVD and HHH to be squaring off in the finals and that RVD will win the tournament. But, it will not just be him fighting for the title at Wrestlemania. Cena will be defending his belt against HHH and RVD in a triple threat match. HHH and RVD are both excellent wrestlers and the WWE might think that putting Cena with those 2 great wrestlers might help Cena’s character by having him hang with these 2 men. Some people still want to see the Cena-HHH main event we were all calling for before fans started turning on Cena causing him to lose the championship. Now that he has the belt back, we might be still able to see that match also having RVD involved and what better way to make RVD look big by having him fight for the title at ‘Mania and also having him win it. I may be looking to far ahead but I do predict RVD to win it all and get the credit he so rightfully deserves. Raw has been bumped to Thursday for next week because of a dog show. They moved from Spike to USA to be bumped by a dog show so close to Wrestlemania. I don’t see TNA being bumped for a bunch of dogs.

WWE Smackdown: Smackdown is still heading down that contreversial route with Randy Orton using Eddie Guererro’s death to get heat and that was what I was checking out in my WWWA post. It is completly disgusting to use a wrestlers death to get another character’s heat. It seems like WWE is saying that Orton is not talented enough to earn heat on his own without using a wrestlers death. The things he is saying are completly disgusting. A couple of weeks back, saying to Mysterio that Eddie was not in heaven but in hell was just absolutely disgusting. Then making fun of Eddie the next week was just crossing te line. Imagine how Eddie’s family is feeling right now seeing how he is being portrayed on tv. I know that when someone loses a loved one the last thing they would want to see on tv was someone degrading his memory. Now my administrator is my step dad and I would like to throw out a prediction that he said could happen in WWE. He said that he believes that Eddie is still alive by the way they are building this Mysterio-Orton feud around his death. I told him that is impossible but anything can happen in WWE especially if it is conteversial. Nowadays, who knows what could be thrown on WWE tv week after week anymore. I told him that WWE is not that stupid to do something like that because all of their fans would leave them once they heard about that and they would be kicked off of tv after doing something like that because that is more over the line than that live sex show was. But, we dont know what to expect from WWE anymore so who knows.

TNA Against All Odds: This night, TNA finally crowned a new NWA World champ in Christian Cage. I am extremely happy for Christian. This guy left some would say the superpower in wrestling back in October and went to the weak willed promotion. Now because of that move, his career is really going to start taking off because of this title victory. WWE lost a great wrestler and TNA grabbed him quickly and now it seems that TNA, the promtion that had no idea where it was going a couple of years ago, knows exactly where they rare going. I dont know about you but I am sick of seeing Jarret with the title. He might be trying to beat Flair’s reigns as NWA champ but at least when Flair won it, fans reacted in a positive way. Now with Jarret, he wins the title when no one wants him to. The NWA always turned to Flair to carry the title because they had no one that could carry it quite like Flair did. Now TNA has a roster full of guys that could carry the title for them but they always seem to go back to Jarret. They wonder why they have not turned a profit yet is because as long back as I can remember, Jarret has had that title for TNA. Whenever TNA switched gears and went in different directions with guys like Raven and AJ Styles, things turned good for them however, when they went back to Jarret, things turned bad. Now, I hope Christian has the belt for a long time and if ti gets taken off of him, I hope it goes to anybody else besides Jarret. Hopefully, TNA does the right thing and never gives the belt back to Jarret.

Now, I would like to thank all of the people that are visiting my blog and dropping comments. Keep on coming and dropping comments because things here on this blog are going to continue to get better.

World Wide Wrestling Alliance

This blog is not devoted to a whole weeks worth of wrestling. My week in wrestling blog will be done in a couple of days. However, this blog is solely devoted to an independent promotion called the World Wide Wrestling Alliance (the link is up under wwwa). It is one of the standout promotions right now on the independent circuit on the east coast. The east coast is red hot these days with alot of great wrestling. All of the promotions are good in their own way but really, the WWWA is definitely one of the top 3 in my opinion. The promotion is entering its 25th year and this year looks to be a good one. Now you might not know about these guys and say so what big deal if they have been around for 25 years. Other promotions have been around alot longer than this one so what is the big deal. I will tell you what the big deal is. These guys are not a multi-million dollar promotion like the WWE. They are an independent promotion without big cable network deals and endorsement deals. They present wrestling in the way it is supposed to be presented. Nowadays, so many independent promotions start up and are gone the next year. These guys have been around for 25 years and I think that is tremendous for any promotion, much less an independent one. Now the thing I really like about these guys is that they do not rely on contreversy to draw crowds. Like I said, they present wrestling in the way it should be presented. They stay away from the soap opera angles, terrorist angles, live sex angles, and they definitely don’t use a wrestler’s death to draw a character’s heat. They go out there and they do what they know how to do best and that is to wrestle and that is why I like them. These guys are about the family oriented entertainment and not about the risque’ type of entertainment. These guys have so much good stuff to comment on that if I leave anything that is good to comment on feel free to leave a comment about it. Right now, they have a hot niterview segment on their site called “Capone’s Corner.” This interview segment is very, very entertaining and I really enjoy it. The guy that does it is call 03 Capone and he has a huge bodyguard called Kage. I have seen all 3 of the segments and each one is very good. This guy knows how to use a mocrophone and draw heat from the crowd and I suggest that you check it out. Aother thing I like is that not every wrestler in the promotion looks like a bodubuilder. That is one of WWE’s problems is that everyone looks the same and let me make an anaology no that for you. Say we had a match pitting Chris Masters against Batista. The only way we can tell them apart is by their faces or if their names are printed on their trunks. But in the WWWA, you have muscle guys like Capone’s bodyguard Kage. He doesn’t have a physique like Batista or anything but he has a more natural looking big muscle phisique. I saw some chubby guys. I saw lightweight guys and I saw tall guys and any other type of guy you can think of, I saw. So they don’t all look the same. Now the other thing I like about them is that they are starting up their own cruiserweight division that they call the “High Impact’ division. You might say, well every promotion has a lightweight division so why is it so big that they have one. Unlike every other lightweight division, they are being innovative. You might say that TNA’s X-division is innovative but these guys are really doing something I haven’t seen done by anybody else for any division. Every title match that they have for the High Impact title, it will be defended in a 3 way match. That makes it the hardest belt to get and keep because you are always defending the belt against 2 guys or you are going for the title against another guy who wants it and a guy who is trying to hold on to it. So that is the World Wide Wrestling Alliance for you. They are not contreversial and they are also very innovative so if you don’t know these guys, I suggest that you go check them out because they are more traditional wrestling and they are very much family oriented wrestling. Go to their site www.worldwidewrestlingalliance.com or just click on the link that says wwwa. So that does it for me and stay tuned because I will do a this weeks blog in a couple of days because I would have done one probably today after I was done doing this post but I forgot about TNA’s ppv. I will give full coverage of this past week in a couple of days.

This Week In Pro Wrestling Jan. 23-29

This was an important week for the WWE as they marched towards the start of the road towards Wrestlemania 22. The road starts at the Royal Rumble and what a rumble it was. Also, Sting made his cable tv return in nearly 5 years on TNA’s Impact and delivered some shocking news. I also came across 2 news stories this week, both of which are involving Shawn Michaels. Well as always, let’s begin this blog with WWE Raw.

Jan. 23 Raw: This Raw was not that pivotal but they continued with their 3 big things going on there at the time being the Cena-Edge rematch for the WWE Title, the McMahon-Michaels feud, and the anticipated return of “Mr. Monday Night” Rob Van Dam. Although RVD did not return on this night, I believe that there were some people, myself included that RVD would make a surprise return to Raw before the rumble. People have been anticipating RVD’s return to the ring from his knee injury because of what he said at ECW One Night Stand and what he said the next night on Raw after he got drafted to Raw. RVD’s character now, from the look of things, is very anti-office. His character was that back in ECW but after he came to WWE, he was degraded to just being a “cool” character. With TNA starting to pick up pace and many people, myself included, are starting to look at TNA as competition to the WWE. I think that Vince might not be showing it to us fans, but I do believe that deep down he knows TNA will catch up to him and he will be struggling again like he was when WCW caught up to him. So the WWE needs a guy like RVD to help defend the WWE from the onslaught that is coming from TNA. They used an anti-office character by the name of Stone Cold Steve Austin to stick it to WCW and they will need a guy like that again to stick it to TNA before this option becomes a last resort like Austin was. I am not knocking Austin, he is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time, but everything else they used against WCW at the time did not work and if this did not work, we might not have a WWE today. We would still have a WCW. Last July, I mentioned on Eric Gargioulo’s Pro Wrestling Radio show (the link is up there) that I believed that John Cena was the next Stone Cold. Eric mentioned that Cena could be Stone Cold on the mic, but he won’t be Stone Cold in the ring. I have now realized that and now I believe that RVD will be the next Stone Cold. Not only can RVD live up to Austin on the mic, he can live up to Austin in the ring because RVD is more athletic than Austin by far (again I am not knocking Austin). So we will just see if WWE creative lets RVD turn into the next Stone Cold or they will just downgrade him again lower his vocab like he said at One Night Stand to “whatever” and “cool”.

Jan. 27 Smackdown: Smackdown marched down the road to the Royal Rumble but believe me, it was not a positive march. Smackdown’s most important match (besides the rumble) is its World Title match pitting defending champ Kurt Angle against Mark Henry (good god). The reason that match came about all stems back to Batista vacating the title because fo an injury suffered at the hands of Mark Henry and Angle returning to Smackdown in the battle royal and winning the title. To see who would face Angle at the rumble for the title, they had a number one contenders match pitting Rey Mysterio against Mark Henry (no mismatch there hey). Now, the WWE had 2 outcomes to this match. Outcome 1: Have Mysterio win and go on and face Angle for the title and represent Smackdown with a great title match at on of the bigger shows of the year. Outcome 2: Have Mark Henry win and represent Smackdown ith a mediocre or just flat out bad match for the title at one of the bigger shows of the year. So what does the WWE choose? They chose to have outcome 2. Now believe me when I say this. This could be an interesting match if they did not do an awful job with Mark Henry’s character during his first 2 runs here. This guy was a low-mid carder at best when he was here his first 2 times here but he returns and now he is a main eventer. And on top of that, worty enough to challenge for the title. On this past week’s Smackdown, Angle and Angle alone like Mark Henry was a good enough challenger for the title by making Henry look strong by not staying down from the Angle Slam and kicking out of the Ankle Lock. You will here the winner of this match in my Royal Rumble section of this blog.

Jan. 28 TNA Impact: On this night, Sting would make his return to cable tv after being gone for 5 years. Team 3D was asking for fan participation to see who they should face at TNA’s upcoming ppv “Against All Odds”. We the fans get to choose between Team Canada or AMW. You can vote at tnawrestling.com and when I voted, Team Canada was in the lead by 5 percent. Now on to Sting. When he came out, he got a standing ovation. When he gave his speech, he looked back on some of his career’s best moments, most of which were including Ric Flair. Then he went on to say how he never got to say goodbye to the fans. He said that was his final resolution. He then proceeded to say goodbye to the fans and as he was walking up the ramp, some of TNA’s finest came out to say goodbye to him. Was this the last time we will ever see Sting again or will he come back sometime in the future. Only time will tell.

Jan 29 WWE Royal Rumble: This is the beginning of the road towards Wrestlemania. It really is the beginning bcause the rumble match determines who will be the challenger in the main event of Wrestlemania and usually, whoever wins the belts of Raw and Smackdown, are usually still champs by Wrestlemania. The WWE Title changed hands as defending champ Edge dropped it back to Cena. Now many people say that the WWE had Edge drop the title back to Cena was because Edge was not producing as champion. Newsflash to the WWE. The reason why Edge was not producing was because of that live sex celebration that you guys wrote up for him the night after he won the title. People thought that Edge was going to be a disgrace to the title because he was so contreversial. Believe me, people would not have thought this if you guys (the creative team) did not book that segment. I believe Edge could have carried the belt for Raw all the way up until Wrestlemania 22. Angle retained his title over Mark Henry (thank god). But what happened after the match was more interesting than the match itself. Undertaker made a surprise return and sent a message that he wants Angle’s title by having lightning strike the ring and have it collapse. Now to the winner of the Rumble. Some people, myself included, believed that RVD would be the winner of the rumble because he was making a triumphant return to the ring from knee surgery. Some people said HHH, Big Show, Kane, Lashley. The list goes on and on. But very few believed that Rey Mysterio would win. You would not expect a guy his size to win it but he did. He dedicated his rumble performance to his friend, the late Eddie Guererro. I am happy for Mysterio and he does deserve this victory. But I believe it should not have taken a friend’s death to happen for this to come to pass for Mysterio. But I could see this coming for Rey or Eddie’s nephew Chavo because they were both very close to Eddie and knowing the WWE creative team, they were going to use Eddie’s death to lauch 1 if not both men to main event status. You might say Rey already was a main eventer but he was not a solid one. He would have main events every now and then, but now because of his rumble victory, he is a solid main eventer. This has yet to pass for Chavo. Here is the entry numbers and order of elimination for the rumble match.

Now here are the 2 news stories I came across.

Shawn wants Bret in the Hall of Fame: Shawn Michaels was asked in an interview if he would like to see Bret Hart in the Hall of Fame. Surprisingly, he said yes. He believes that having Bret in the Hall of Fame would be awesome and says that Bret deserves it. He said that Bret should move past the Montreal incidet because both Shawn and Vince have and he believes that Bret should do the same. The invitation has been sent to Bret but he has not accepted nor rejected it as of right now

Rock denies Michaels match for Wrestlemania 22: Shawn Michaels has requested to The Rock that they should wrestle in an epic encounter at Wrestlemania. The Rock denies Shawn’s request saying that Shawn does not have enough star pwer to present this match as an epic encounter. He still has some hard feelings towards Shawn for the way he treated him when he first came to WWE a decade ago.

That is it for this week but before I go, I would like to let everyone know that all of the banners and pistures that are now on here are because of my administrator who is my step father. I would like to thank him for all of the effort he has put into doing this. THANK YOU!
