This Week In Pro Wrestling Jan. 8-14

This was a major week of transition in the WWE while TNA hyped up to Final Resolution and the return of sting.
New Year’s Revolution: I didn’t see this ppv so I don’t have to many comments on this subject. The big story out of that show was the Elimination Chamber match and what happened afterwards. Cena’s title was in jeopardy as he defended it against 5 of Raw’s top stars and in the most unforgiving match in history. Everyone was speculating that Angle or Michaels would walk out the victor of this contest. Angle and Michaels were the first 2 eliminated leaving Cena, Carlito, and Masters left. We all know that Carlito or Masters were definitely not ready to carry the belt for Raw so we all knew that Cena would keep the title. Now after the match, Edge cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and marched down to the ring. A couple of minutes and a spear later, Edge was crowned new WWE champion.
Raw ( Jan. 9): The next night, WWE crossed the line like it has never been crossed before. Edge and Lita were going to have a live sex celebration in the ring. I thought that they would just tease it but they actually went all the way. We may not have seen them completely naked but just doing what they were doing in the middle of the ring on national television is just sick and it shows how sick the Raw writing team is. They may be trying to go back to Raw actually being Raw like it was when it debuted on USA. But, from what I know, Raw on USA back when it first started meant a girl in a bikini walking around the ring and holding up a sign. DX did not go as far as these guys did. They tiptoed near the line, teasing that they might actually cross it but they never did. At least when they did it, it was funny and entertaining. This live sex segment was not funny or entertaining, it was just plain sick and I am absolutely disgusted with the WWE for doing such a thing.
Smackdown (Jan. 13): On this night, it was actually acknowledeged that Batista was injured and had to forfeit the title. I was not happy with this because Batista was a great champion and the top drawing card on Smackdown in my opinion. The WWE has such a lack of talent right now, especially on smackdown, that this Batista injury is going to hurt them big time. After Batista forfeited the title, Teddy Long announced a 20 man battle royal to crown the new champion. I thought that Mark Henry would walk out with the title (good god) and send smackdown down the toilet. But I was surprised to see Kurt Angle show up. Ity looked like it was all over for Angle got thrown through the announce table by Mark Henry. Rey Mysterio putup a valiant effort against Henry but he got thrown out. Henry thought he had it won but for got all about Angle who came back into the ring and won the world title. It is sad when Smackdown has to go to Raw to get new talent but they really had no choice. I am happy that Angle is the champ and I expect great thingsa from him because he is going to be a major help to the Smackdown roster.
TNA Impact (Jan. 14): It was the final night before the return of Sting and everybody thought that they were going to see Sting return that night. After Jarrett and Monty Brown were done beating on Christian Cage, Sting made his return but not in person. His voice was heard and Sting was playing mind games with them and I consider Sting to be 1 of the masters of the mind games. I can’t wait for next weeks Impact to see Sting or to just to see what happened at Final Resolution because I have to miss that ppv to.
Until next time, everyone be safe. Also, in the coming weeks, I will be giving commentary on an independent promotion called the World Wide Wrestling Alliance. The link is up and they are a family oriented promotion!
