Chris “Cash” Bauman Tribute

chris cash new On August 19, the wrestling world and Combat Zone Wrestling lost an awesome athlete that being Chris “Cash” Bauman. He debuted in CZW in 2001 and was seemingly being praised by the CZW announcers very early in his career including the host of Pro Wrestling Radio Eric Gargiulo. It is said that he lived every day to the fullest whether he was being faced with adversity or not. Chris Cash passed away in a motorcycle accident including his cousin Jeremy Bauman. Chris was 23 and Jeremy was 27. During Chris Cash’s career, he held the CZW World Tag Team titles with a member of Team Cash, that being Nate Webb. They defeated The Blackout (Ruckus and Sabian) on December 11, 2004. They held the titles until Feburary 5, 2005, when they dropped the titles to the HB Club (Jusitice Pain and Nick Cage). It is also said that Chris gave everything he had in every single wrestling match whether he was in the 1st match, in the middle of the card, or in the main event he always gave everything he had. My heart goes out to Chris’s family and friends because I know what it is like losing a family member and a friend. On 9-1-98, I lost my biological dad in a boating accident and on 3-4-05, I lost a close friend when he tragically committed suicide and not a day goes by where I don’t think of either of those 2 men because they were both very close to me. So I know what it is like to lose someone very close to me. CZW is holding a tribute show to Chris Cash on September 10, 2005 called “Down With The Sickness 4-Ever and admission is $10. For more info on that event, you can visit www.czwrestling.com and they will give you the full info on the event. In conclusion, I will just like to say that this blog is dedicated to the family and friends of Chris Cash and I do know he has passed away a little over a week ago, but I just wanted all of the best info I could find on Chris Cashs’ life and career.

This Week In Wrestltling Aug. 21-25

Again this week I will be covering Raw and Smackdown together and I will also be including Summerslam. Let’s start with Summerslam. What an incredible PPV. This was the best PPV I have seen since ECW One Night Stand. You might say that isn’t much but you must include the Raw and Smackdown PPVs and TNA’s PPVs. It started with a 25.5 second match with Benoit beating Orlando Jordan. Batista and JBL’s match was a good one despite of what I said JBL in recent blogs. Cena rightfully kept his title from Jericho. Then Hogan-Michaels was a good match. Hogan is not agile enough to hang with Michaels but if you saw that match, it sure looked like he was but that is because of Michaels being a common denominator. A common denominator is a guy that can wrestle anybody and can make guys that are not comparable to them look like they are. Now onto the results from a phenomanal PPV.

Results From Summerslam 2005
U.S. Title: Chris Benoit def. Orlando Jordan (champ)
Edge def. Matt Hardy
Ladder Match: Rey Mysterio def. Eddie Guererro
Kurt Angle def. Eugene
Randy Orton def. The Undertaker
WWE Title: John Cena (champ) def. Chris Jericho
World Title No Holds Barred: Batista (champ) def. JBL
Hulk Hogan def. Shawn Michaels

This Week On Raw
This show was a tremendous follow up to Summerslam as they were starting all new fresh angles by the end of the night. Shelton Benjamin started up the show against Angle in an awesome match that was comparable to Michaels and Benjamin fighting each other in the Gold Rush tourney back in April or May but an awesome match no matter what. I thought that Benjamin would win that match and then Angle would be all mad and start up a feud with Benjamin but Angle won and after Cena beat Jericho in a You’re Fired match, Angle attacked Cena and is now Bischoff’s new fighter against Cena for the title. Ric Flair finally returned but not with HHH and is now looking to have a feud against Carlito and maybe it will go out as far as having Flair chase Carlito for 1 more accolade, the IC title. Now the results from Raw.

Results From Aug. 22 Raw
Kurt Angle def. Shelton Benjamin
Rob Conway def. Matt Hardy
Big Show def. Snitsky
You’re Fired Match WWE Title: John Cena (champ) def. Chris Jericho

This Week On Smackdown
This was not a good follow up to Summerslam. This week they announced when Smackdown was moving to Fridays and in my mind is a stupid move. Tazz said that nothing is ever on Frdays and they were going to dominate Fridays from now on. Why do you think there is nothing on Fridays? Because, for some, it is Varsity Football night, some people are on dates, and it is the end of the work week and everybody at least workers who had a long week, are at bars. Do you think any major network is going to run a program on a night like that, everybody is out having a good time. Their main event was good and it was also announced that the World Title would be defended on the first Friday night Smackdown with Batista defending the belt again against JBL. YAY! (not really). I am not saying the matches were bad, just the storline directions on the show following such a great PPV. Now on to Smackdowns results.

Results From Aug. 25 Smackdown
Super Crazy and Psicosis def. Booker T and Christian
Randy Orton def. Hardcore Holly
Heidenreich def. Johnny Nitro via DQ
Ken Kennedy def. Funaki
6 Man Tag: Batista, Chis Benoit, and Rey Mysterio def. Orlando Jordan, JBL, and Eddie Guererro

Just 1 more note before I leave you with this post. If you want hardcore wrestling talk on anything wrestling you want, I suggest you listen to Pro Wrestling Radio on Saturdays 12ET/11C at WBCB Radio. com or at prowrestling radio.com. This Week In Pro Wrestling Aug. 16-19

I am sorry that I missed doing my Raw blog, I had to much stuff to do so this one will be a very extended one. Now on to Raw from this past week. You can tell no one in Montreal likes Shawn Michaels. He is the best charachter possible when it comes to being a heel. He knows how to draw heat from the fans like he knows how to draw love when he is a babyface. They are really hyping Micheals’ match against Hogan at Summerslam and what a match this shall be. This likely will be Hogan’s last match so he might win but I think they are going to involve Bret Hart into this feud at Summerslam by him getting revenge against Micheals or Hogan, 2 guys he can’t stand in his professional or personal life. Shawn he can’t stand for whta happened when Shawn screwed Bret at Survivor Series ‘97. Hogan he can’t stand because of a misunderstanding of who Hogan was going to drop the belt to at King of the Ring ‘93 when rumors circulated that Hogan said he would not drop the belt to Bret because Bret wasn’t in his league. If you don’t believe me, read Hogan’s autobiography, he tells the whole story himself. Anyway, Shawn has had an incredivle year in WWE from his feud with Edge to wrestling Angle at WMXX and Vengeance to now wrestling Hogan at Summerslam. You have to imagine what they have in store for Shawn at Survivor Series,. Maybe a match, even though very unlikely, Shawn vs. Bret, rematch from Survivor Series ‘97. Now on to the WWE title storyline quickly. Cena obviously has alot of momentum going into this match and I am not going to sit here again and crticize this feud and if you want to hear it, read my other blogs. Now on to the results.

Match Results From Aug. 15 Raw
Rob Conway def. The Hurricane
Big Show def. the Heart Throbs
Edge def. Val Venis
Eugene def. Renee’ Dupree by DQ (Eugene Invitational)
Handicap Match: John Cena def. Chris Jericho and IC Champ Carlito
Hulk Hogan def. Kurt Angle by DQ

This Week On Smackdown:
The WWE creative team is getting sick with the Guererro-Mysterio angle by now saying the future of a 8 year old kid is now going to be determined by a amn grabbing a briefcase with the custody papers in it in a ladder match, agaian like I said in my last blog HOW SICK! Batista made it clear that he is ready to take on JBL at Summerslam with the World title on the line and I think, Batista will amke this match a good one not JBL. Batista is having a match with the weapons, JBL just happens to be in the same ring. Now on to Smackdown’s results.

Match Results From Aug. 18 Smackdown
Animal and Heidenreich def. Ruffy Silverstein and J.P. Parsons
Joey Mercury and Melina def. Booker T and Sharmell
Rey Mysterio def. Simon Dean
No Holds Barred: JBL vs. Funaki (No Contest)
Randy Orton def. Chris Benoit

With Summerslam no the horizon, I will run dow the matches for Summerslam.

Matches for Summerslam
U.S. Championship: Orlando Jordan (champ) vs. Chris Benoit
Ladder Match: RTey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guererro
Eugene vs. Kurt Angle
Undertaker vs. Randy Orton
Matt Hardy vs. Edge
World Championship No Holds Barred: Batista (champ) vs. JBL
WWE Championship: John Cena (champ) vs. Chris Jericho
Legend vs. Icon: Hulk Hogan vs Shawn Michaels

I now will leave you with TNA’s Sacrifice results

Smackdown and the major stories in pro wrestling

This week on Smackdown they are continuing to push the world title match pitting Batista against JBL at Summerslam in a No Holds Barred match. If they decide to give the belt back to JBL, it will be a huge mistake because JBL was a thrown up there type of guy for Smackdown when he got the belt. He was thrusted into the top spot and you just can’t do that with a low card singles wrestler and a mid card tag wrestler for the past 10 years and expect people to give a crap all of a sudden. He was thrusted up there because there were going to be big holes in the upper spots and WWE was not really prepared for that. You see, Brock Lesnar was leaving the company to join the NFL, The Rock was off making movies in Hollywood after his 1 match at WMXX, Goldberg was leaving the company, Stone Cold was going to leave the company in a couple of weeks, Kurt Angle was having neck problems and was appointed new GM of Smackdown after Heyman walked out, and the rest of the upper echelon wrestlers were on Raw so JBL was their last minute replacement because another replacement was already holding the belt that being Eddie Guerrero but Batista grew into his spot on Raw and won a world title quicker than JBL because people cared about Batista but not JBL during his first years with the company. Just 1 more thing before I give you the results from this past week, they now on national television are putting rey’s son supposedly Gurerro’s son into foster care on national television and resulting in a match at Summerslam for custody of Dominick. How sick.

Match Results from Aug. 11 Smackdown:
the Mexicools def. William Regal and Scotty 2 Hotty
Chris Benoit def. Simon Dean
Rany Orton vs. Kamala (No Contest)
Booker T def. Joey Mercury
WWE Tag Champs Animal and Heidenreich def. Scotty Sabre and Jason Static
World Champ Batista def. Christian by DQ

This Week On Raw

Before I start talking about what went down on Raw this past week, I would like to inform you that I will talk about Raw on Tuesdays or Wednesdays and Smackdown on Fridays Or Saturdays. You might say I am only focusing on WWE, but that is where I am going to tell you that I will try to cover as many wrestling promotions as I can on my Smackdown posts and any other major non-ring headlines as I can. With that said , let me start talking about Raw this past week.
This Week On Raw:
They elimanated Kristal from the Raw Diva Search and next week, they will crown a new Raw diva. For one thing, that is not true. They crowned Christy Hemme the new Raw diva last year but Carmela, the girl she beat in the finals, came back for a month feud with her. We still see Maria on Raw and Michelle McCool on smackdown and even Joy Giovanni (now released) and not to mention Amy Weber(I don’t know where she went to), girls that were elimanated but obviously had a job waiting for them when they got elimanated. It was announced this past week that Kurt Angle will meet Eugene at Summerslam in a No Time Limit match meaning it is not the Eugene Invitational at Summerslam. What I want to know what happened to Angle semmingly going into a feud with Ric Flair. We have not seen Ric Flair in a long time which might be hapening because HHH is not doing anything right now. I am not saying anything like saying Raw is built on these 2 people but Ric Flair’s career in WWE is not built on HHH. Ric Flair is still a part of the WWE roster and I think at least in my mind that Flair-Angle would be a better match for Summerslam on Raw’s behalf because I think with Ric Flair complimenting Angle in his book by saying he could be the best ever and pitting Angle against Flair would represent 2 very different generations of wrestling style going against one another would be a very good match. It could go really any way. If Flair won, he could say he still has it in him to go against any wrestler on any given night and if Angle won, he could say he is now the best ever because he beat the best ever that being a 16 time World Champion in Ric Flair and because he beat every single big name in the business at least once. They seem to be still pushing Raw’s main event for the WWE Title pitting John Cena against Chris Jericho and you already know my thoughts on that from last weeks blog ( if you have read it yet). That is it for this blog but before I am done, I am going to post the match results form Raw like I will do with my Smackdown blog and any other promotion’s results I find in my Smackdown blogs.
Match Results From Aug. 8 Raw:
Kristal elimanated from Raw Diva Search
Matt Hardy def. Gene Snitsky
Eugene def Kurt Angle by DQ Eugene Invitational
Chris Masters def. Shelton Benjamin
Rob Conway def. Viscera
Victoria and the Heart Throbs def. Hurricane, Rosey, and Stacy Keibler
Chris Jericho def. Chad Patton (referee)

They are continuing to build up Raw’s main event for Summerslam pitting John Cena against Chris Jericho with Cena’s WWE title on the line. Some people may be liking this feud but I find it stupid and the challenger is not worthy of this shot. I have no problem with Cena but Jericho, give me a break. This is a man that has said on many occasions he would like to retire soon and put full effrort into his band Fozzy. I have not seen him wrestle in at least a couple of weeks and when he does wrestle, he seems to lose or come close to it. We saw Cena defend his belt against Jericho in a 3 way also involving Christian at Vengeance and the only one who seemed to have a good match and hold up his end was Cena. Now, at one of the biggest PPVs of the year, Jericho is getting another chance at the gold and he doesn’t deserve it. One person who does is Shelton Benjamin. This kid was an amateur wrestler at the state of Minnesota and being an amateur wrestler myself in High School and seeing what I go through, it must be nothing compared to what Benjamin must have gone through. If this kid can survive amateur wrestling in college, he must be good. Don’t forget, when he first came to Raw in early 2004, he beat HHH twice, took Orton to the limit for his IC belt, and beat the legend Ric Flair. This guy back in October, beat the challenger for the WWE title that being Chris Jericho for Jericho’s IC belt at Taboo Tuesday and went on to hold it for 8 months and in that span, defended the belt against Jericho sucessfully. When Carlito first came over this year in the draft and challenged Benjamin for his IC belt, he got to beat him and successfully defend it against Benjamin at Vengeance. That whole incident seemed to downplay Benjamin and just last week, Carlito got a shot at Cena’s WWE title. Where is Benjamin’s title shot for the WWE title? He certainly deserves more than Carlito and way more than Jericho.

Match Results from Aug. 1 Raw:
Eugene Invitational: Eugene def. Tatanka by DQ
Shelton Benjamin and Big Show def. Chris Masters and Gene Snitsky
Rob Conway def. Val Venis
WWE Title: Joh Cena (champ) def. Carlito(IC champ)
